When a cellular network is available, the unit transmits GPS data to the server along with, optionally, data to the server via GPRS. In case the network availability is not there, the data is stored in the internal memory that is transmitted to the server later when the network is available. A unique feature is that the GPS and GPRS antennas are hidden, therefore reducing the cost of antenna installation and also reducing the chances of mechanical damage to them.
